Suicide rate vs. income inequality
The Gini coefficient is a measure of the inequality of the income distribution in a population. Higher values indicate a higher level of inequality. Suicide deaths areunderreported in many countries due to social stigma and cultural or legal concerns. This data is adjusted for this underreporting to estimate the actual rate ofsuicides.
